About iKima
Understand your body.
Find your way back to baseline.
Modern life gives us more ways than ever to measure, optimize, and stay connected. Yet it can still be surprisingly difficult to notice something much closer to us: how our own body is responding to everyday stress.
iKima started with a simple question:
What if technology could help us better understand the signals our bodies are already giving us?
We believe technology for well-being shouldn't demand more of our attention. It should work quietly, helping us notice changes in our body and take simple action when we need it.
iKima brings together physiological signals and guided experiences to help people build greater awareness of their body — one small reset at a time.
We believe the best health technology shouldn't tell you how you should feel.
It should help you understand how you do feel. And from there, help you find your way back to your baseline.
Why iKima?
The name iKima started with an inspiration from ikigai.
That initial inspiration evolved into something of our own: bringing health, well-being, and technology together to create experiences that feel quieter, more useful, and more human.
For us, iKima represents a simple direction: understand your body, find your way back to baseline.
What we believe
Science
Evidence over hype.We design around what we can responsibly learn from physiological signals — without turning every number into a diagnosis or a promise.
Simplicity
Less to think about when you already have enough to think about.Technology should reduce friction, not create more of it. Understanding your body shouldn't require another complicated routine.
Privacy
Your body data belongs to you.Privacy should be part of how health technology is designed from the beginning, not something added later.
Where we're going
iKima starts with the technology people already have — from wearable sensors to physiological signals captured through a smartphone — to make body awareness more accessible in everyday life.
But iKima isn't about a single device, sensor, or technique. We're exploring how everyday technology can help people better understand their body's signals, recognize changes in their state, and respond in simple, practical ways.
Our direction is simple:
Understand your body.
Find your way back to baseline.
Less noise. More awareness.
A better connection with your own body.
Why I built it
I've tried many things for anxiety — meditation, exercise, journaling, singing bowls, therapy. They all helped, and I still do them.
But when I added breathing practice, things improved noticeably faster. Breath regulation works anywhere, anytime, with zero setup — on the subway, before a meeting, in bed. It doesn't replace other approaches; it makes each of them work better.
"Anywhere, anytime" has one catch, though: you have to remember how. And in the moment I needed it most — heart racing, mind already spinning — I couldn't. Which technique, what count, for how long? I'd open one of the breathing apps I'd downloaded, get lost in its menus and modes, and put the phone down without taking a single breath.
So I built iKima. Open it and you're breathing within a minute. A gentle haptic marks every phase — on your iPhone or Apple Watch — so there are no menus, no steps to remember, no screen to stare at.
Core breathing sessions are free, forever — open the app and start. Unlock full HR trends and insights with Premium — a whole month costs less than a single hour of almost anything else you'd try to feel calmer.
iKima is made by Sentira Labs. The name comes from sentire — to feel, to sense.
